Tethered Quilts has been a long-running series of experiments that explore my interest in domestic textiles and frugality. These small button-stitched patchworks use imagery drawn from decaying buildings, brick patterns, and the architectural ironwork that sometimes holds them together.

Tethered Quilts grew out of an earlier series: Interior Landscapes. The process of creating and then distorting imagery by cutting and reassembly enabled me to play with pattern-making and layering with stitch.
